Editorial Notes

The E-series entry point to ThinkPad. Shares the same excellent keyboard with higher-tier models while cutting costs on chassis materials and port selection. The 1240P provides surprisingly strong multi-core for the price point.

Known Issues

Chassis is plastic rather than the magnesium/carbon of T/X series — feels less premium. No Ethernet port — dongle required. 40 GB max RAM is an unusual cap.

Swiss Market

Positioned as the student and SME ThinkPad in Switzerland. Often found at Digitec under CHF 1000 for capable configurations.
