Editorial Notes
The T14 Gen 3 Intel brought Alder Lake P-series to the mainstream T-series. Dual SODIMM slots with DDR4 make it one of the most serviceable modern ThinkPads. The 12th Gen platform with P/E cores was a significant multi-core uplift over 11th Gen.
DDR4 (not DDR5) limits memory bandwidth compared to newer models. The base 300-nit WUXGA panel is adequate but underwhelming next to the 2.8K OLED option.
Excellent refurbished value. Swiss corporate fleets are now cycling these out — expect CHF 400-700 on Ricardo for well-maintained units.
Lenovo-certified for Ubuntu. 12th Gen Intel is well-supported. The socketed DDR4 RAM is a practical advantage for Linux users buying base configs to self-upgrade.
