Editorial Notes
The Gen 10 introduced 12th Gen Intel P-series and OLED to the X1 Carbon line. The 2.8K OLED option was a watershed moment for business ultrabooks — stunning colour accuracy in a sub-1.13 kg chassis. The 1270P offers solid multi-core via P/E core architecture.
12th Gen Intel runs warmer than expected in this thin chassis. PL2 spikes can cause brief thermal throttling. The OLED panel, while beautiful, has typical OLED concerns around burn-in with static UI elements over years of use.
Now available refurbished at significant discounts. A refurbished Gen 10 OLED offers remarkable value compared to a new Gen 12 WUXGA at similar pricing.
Excellent Linux support. 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake is fully supported on kernel 6.1+. Iris Xe has mature i915 drivers.
