Editorial Notes
The X1 Yoga Gen 9 is the convertible sibling of the X1 Carbon Gen 12, sharing its Intel Core Ultra platform and 2.8K OLED panel but adding 360-degree hinge and active pen support. The garaged pen eliminates the need to carry a separate stylus. At 1.35 kg it is only slightly heavier than the Carbon.
The OLED panel in tent mode can accumulate fingerprints quickly — a microfibre cloth is essential. Pen jitter at very slow drawing speeds is reported but within normal range for EMR digitizers.
Popular with Swiss consultants and architects who present on-site. The pen-capable OLED is valued for annotating drawings and signing documents. Available at Lenovo CH and Digitec.
Lenovo-certified for Ubuntu. Pen input works via libwacom. Auto-rotation in tablet mode requires iio-sensor-proxy. The OLED touch panel works natively on recent kernels.
